now thats how I always pictured nurses 😀

By the way...

I am not a nurse. true, I am completing my RN, but prior to finishing undergrad and applying to med school.

not that there's anything wrong with being an RN, just wanted to clear up any confusion, since someone just called me on it. 🙂

HAHAH, actually a lot of people thought that, and have been PM'ing me, which is why i cleared it up...and i actually plan on going into ortho-surg, so im sure ill be dealing with the caveman mentality for quite some time.

Im not sure if he was or was not, but i am sure that i couldnt care less. 🙂

Yeah since shes a girl I thought "oh snap a nurse". Even nursing might be pushing it too far as far as women go. My ideal woman is this:

Now thats a woman. Ready to cook a fresh microwaved meal in our stainless steel 1950s kitchen. Better keep those high heels on too while you're in there. Gotta look your best while taking care of your husband and serving his every need!

OH and nurses dress like this right:

are you kidding me? i barely have time to eat nevermind clean my carpet. LOL. but good call. i'll get to it....

Trust me. I'm in the same boat. My place is pretty horrible. I walk in and light a scented candle to get rid of the weird smell.

I forget to eat a lot lately as well. I'm down to 225 which is the lightest I've been since 7th grade. boo yah.

I know I've attached photos before, but what the hell. I'll do it again.

After 3 hours of driving in driving rain and another hour of driving in Manhattan trying to find parking. It is a miracle I didn't look more strungout.

Crazy eyes from redeye removal.

Thats you at 225? Damn. When I was 225 I looked like a ****ing jelly roll.

Oh an Alaska is awesome. I remember being up there in the mountains and seeing water that was so blue it looked like the carribean. And then it being light out at midnight was pretty cool too.

Yeah, I love it here. ^_^ It's too cold though. I just wish it really was next to Hawaii just like people always think (roflmao ) Then it would be Perfect. Gotta love the mountains though and the ppl are really nice. Not quite as stuck up as a lot of other places. When did you visit out of curiosity?

Hmm 2001 I believe. Visited anchorage, went up north from there, ended up in vancouver, although I guess thats canada.

I love the cold weather. Its too hot down here in NY. Snow and subfreezing temperatures = awesome.

Really? Cool. I live in Anchorage. I HAAAATE the cold though. Absolutely hate it! I am tiny (a whoping 5'1" and 98 lb) and have bad circulation so I have a really difficult staying warm even in normal weather! haha NY, eh? Gross! I lived in Jefferson county for about a year and have never been more miserable in my life. I hated it there. The ppl were stuck up, inbred, not very intelligent, and really two faced. (No offense). And the school was REALLY bad. (I went to General Brown, in Brownville near Watertown). Anyways, I hear the city is really different. One day I'll go back - I never got to see the Statue of Liberty. 🙁 Where abouts are you in NY?

I love people's perception of hot/cold. New York too hot...I hated the snow and cold in PA. It is nice when you have nothing to do, but when you have to walk to class and there are lots of hills, it just blows.

Its not like Alaska is still only 45 degrees at noon during the summer. For whatever reason I keep track of weather for the world, and I've seen it in 80s and 90s in Denali and Fairbanks area.

You just learn to deal with whatever you have I guess. I live in Florida, and I think we are bigger temperature wusses than most. We go out of our super air conditioned house into our air conditioned car where we walk 10 feet into the air conditioned store. Then we sit outside and complain about how hot it is after 15 minutes.

LOL I'm a stupid stuckup two-faced inbred, but no offense taken. :hardy:

Jefferson county does not count as new york. For that matter neither does the rest of upstate NY. Once you get past westchester you're really pushing it. I go up to vermont semi-regularly, and once you pass Albany it gets bad too. I'm not too crazy about albany for that matter but I'll let it go.

Long Island. Close enough to NYC that I've done almost none of the usual NYC stops that people would do. I've never been to the statue of liberty either, just seen it while going by on a boat or something. Never been to coney island. I have been to Chicken and Rice however, which is the untold secret of manhattan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/53rd_and_6th

Haha 👍 Yes, Fairbanks gets really nice summers. Anchorage usually does too, but this year it's been cloudy and kind of chilly. The winter is cold though. It wouldn't be bad if it was a little shorter, but it is soooo long. The four seasons here are: Winter, Slush, Construction, Fall. hehe

😱 I KNEW IT!!!! jkjk
Yeah, upstate NY is like a different country. haha And I have to say, honestly, the winter I spent there was worse then most winters here. It may have been warmer by measurement, but it was WET and WINDY. NOT a good combo. 🙁 Not to mention the heaters in school were broken, and I had the coldest room in the house! hahaha At least Anchorage is mainly dry cold. Wet cold is a whole diff. Ballgame. And I have to say, it is a relief to know that I am not the only person who lived in NY and didn't go the the statue. At least you have seen it though. lol

Actually, that is me at around 235. I'm 6'5", so its not like its super light for my height.

omygosh MossPoh, you are monstrous, girls like monsters😉😛

my ex was 6'3 210.

At my height (just shy of 6'5"), I looked skinny at 255. That was my pre-triathlon days. I'm down to about 215 now, and I am a much faster runner. I don't look much different until I take my shirt off though.

Check out my india pants, they told us that they were hip fashion over there...but I think they tricked us. I felt like aladdin 😀

P.S. So if you are Aladdin you can just ask Genie to get you into Med school right? Man! Wouldn't That be nice! 😀

I certainly Agree....
so....how about that pic, eh? 😉😛

I have no pictures at all, at my current location. However, this is the best thread of all-time, and I highly suggest you start at the beginning and go through.

how is india? would you reccomend going there?

India is a big place, but I went to kolkata which is considered the 'armpit' of India if you ask anyone who is from there. I go to school in LA and I thought I knew what stress and business was...but kolkata is INSANE! most foreigners who go there work for NGO's or the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa's mission) which is where i was. It was a great experience..got to do things that a person like me with absolutely no training would NEVER get to do in the states, really gnarly wounds. I also got to take care of patients on a long term basis, and that was really where I learned the most. But..Im still pretty wrecked mentally and physically after 2 weeks of being back. So yes I would recommend it, but be prepared to get rocked!

Plus, its hot as hell and theres no escape👎

here's a funny one... my brief foray into being a "blonde".

Yea, people say I look skinny now. Its kind of nice that 30 pounds doesn't mean too much of a difference to me. I was a long distance swimmer for a long time and even then I was 230. The weight is killer on the joints and speed though...understandable that you are faster now. I had a low 5 second 40 when I was 255, but anything over a couple miles was horrendous.
