Your GPA is low, but you definitely show a positive trend. Also you have great DAT scores. Get some shadowing experience (<100 hrs) and do well in the remaining necessary coursework and I think you should have a chance. But also keep in mind that it may be more difficult to gain admission due to your Canadian citizenship. Answer me this; how did you get a 23 TS without having taken Organic Chemistry?

I don't think that the Canadian DAT has organic chemistry on it. However, you don't need OChem to get a 23 on the american DAT TS. This has been talked about before so I won't go down that path.

I think that not having shadowing experience would hurt too. I'm not very familiar with Canadian application process and everything either. But I know that after 100+ hours shadowing I'm still interested if not more interested in dentistry. While others shadow for 2 days and decide to change their mind. So I think the shadowing would be a necessity so that the schools you apply to know that your still interested in dentistry, even after 200+ shadowing hours or however many you would wind up having.

You must shadow before entering any profession. Many schools even have a requirement. Start shadowing and volunteering ASAP. Your DAT is good but your GPA is not so hot.

You can apply, but you should build up your EC to make up for your GPA. Not to mention, you need to understand what you're getting into.
