Does anyone have experience bringing study materials into the testing site break room?

For me, VR requires some adjustments and reminders so I might benefit from doing and checking the answers to a VR passage or two during the break between PS and VR. Would the testing site administrators permit that? Are there any terms in the contract which deny me this privilege?

You are not allowed to look at any study materials during breaks. I believe you can peruse flashcards, etc before you check in and start the test, but once you check in, all that stuff goes into your locker.

This is covered in MCAT Essentials... Maybe read the required reading yourself?

Depending on location, there may be some magazines on the tables by the chairs in the seating area. You can pick those up and read them to warm up; the proctors don't care.

Otherwise, don't read any study materials during breaks. One SDNer got caught and made a thread about what happened with the AAMC. His score was rescinded and he was banned from future MCAT administrations. Echoing getthelead out, do your due diligence, and don't undertake unnecessary risk.

You cant review stuff, but also you wouldn't have enough time. You have 10 minutes you say, yea but remember every time you go in and out you have to check in and check out. Every time you go in, they will get your fingerprint, check your ID, and scan you with a metal detector. So in reality you have like 7 minutes of a break, 8 minutes is pushing it. How do you plan on getting out, doing a verbal passage, checking the answers and returning under 8 minutes. IDK how fast you do your verbal, but I'd rather go to the restroom have a drink of water and a snack.

:hijacked: Do you know if brushing teeth is allowed? It's not prohibited, so I'm assuming I can. Also, would I be able to enter the testing room barefoot? I want to take off my shoes, but it's not allowed. So I'd rather go in just with socks.

What happens if you're sick and need a tissue? Would the testing center provide that? I don't want to be sniffling every 2 seconds and worrying about preventing snot from running from my nose like a waterfall...

Tissues should be provided just outside the test room, you can take them in.
