Hey friends! Now that I've taken the DAT, and am officially ready to apply I have a question that I think can benefit a lot of people.
I own the 2015 ADEA guide to dental schools, so I can figure out tuition, acceptance rates, IS/OOS stuff, etc. However, how can we figure out details/nuances about schools BEFORE we apply and interview?
For example, two of the schools I'm applying to are UCLA and Roseman. I've heard from at least one person that Roseman tends to focus more just on dentistry, while UCLA is more similar to a medical school spends a lot of your time on things that may or may not relate to dentistry directly. In reality, if this were the case I'd enjoy Roseman more. But it also costs quite a bit more, about 50k after the difference in housing rates. It would be nice if I could make this type of comparison with multiple schools.
Is there any thread where students from different schools have answered a set of questions that would answer stuff like this? School specific discussions just seems to have acceptance/reject threads.
And I have considered calling schools, but I'd value a student's opinion far more. Seems like it would be more honest and forthright.
Thanks guys!
