What is the farthest that you or someone you know had to travel for an interview, only to be rejecte

Not for med school, but I flew from Austin, TX to Boston, MA to interview for a summer internship and got rejected.

I'm pretty sure I got most of y'all beat as I was in East Asia when I applied. Flew back twice. The first time I did 3 interviews and got outright rejected from one (waitlisted at the other two). Second time I did 1 interview and got accepted. Totally worth it, plus I got medallion status on Delta from all my flights. 🙂

Not for medical school but I applied to Uchicago for undergrad. My father was invited to some architectural award ceremony in Chicago and I used this opportunity to tour the school, being from New England and not having traveled extensively to tour other colleges. When I got there I was utterly blown away by everything, and even spoke with an admissions representative who filled me with a great deal of hope, only to return to my hotel room literally hours later and receive a rejection letter via email from them.
