what is the function of the SH2 domain

ummm, i hope you're not studying that for mcat, cuz it won't help, but SH2 domains bind phosphotyrosine residues (so IRS-1 has a SH2 domain that binds the insulin receptor's cytosolic domain once the receptor has self-phosphorylated, then PI3K binds phosphorylated IRS-1 with another SH2 domain).
 
oh, those are answer choices, i see, so it's protein-protein interactions, cuz it doesn't have kinase activity, it doesn't bind the signal molecule (that's a receptor), and it's not a transmembrane domain
