What is the process for retaking the DAT after applying?

I recently took the DAT and am going to be sending in my applications shortly. On the DAT, I received a 20AA/20TS/18PAT.

I know that this score is around the average score for an admitted student, but I believe that I can do better on the DAT and improve my PAT score in particular. Can I apply now, retake the DAT in October, and then send my updated score to schools? Will schools evaluate me with my previous score or hold off on looking at my application until I send in my new score? Thank you for your help.

Yes you can submit your application now, as well as add that you will be taking the DAT in October, there was an option for this on AADSAS last year. Also you can call and email the schools you sent your app to and tell them that you will be retaking and to put your app on hold, some schools will some won't. Good luck! I retook mine in December last year and still got multiple interviews and acceptances!

Depending on your GPA and EC's u might have a really good shot at some schools. I would think carefully before retaking because you'd pay a bunch of money and ...brain power 😉. That's a big one haha. I guess it's your your scores are not bad. They are spot on average haha. So yeah just think about it I'd say. I believe you have to wait 3 months if you want to retake
