What are you guys majoring and/or minoring in? Have you changed yours around a lot?

I'm planning on double majoring in German and Athletic Training. I ultimately want to become sports physician.

I started as a Computer Science, then did an internship with a software company, hated it, and switched to no pref, and transferred schools (downgraded). Then I became a sociology major, and that lasted for a year before I realized that there are few job prospects for sociologists, and even less than seemed interesting to me. Then I transferred again (upgraded), and switched to Biochemistry. Biochem required me to take a bunch of advanced chemistry, which I hated, and also required up to calc 3, which I hated, so I switch majors again to Human Biology. That's where I stand now, and I graduate in may.

I thought that Human Biology at MSU required calc as well. Guess not.

I am true geek I guess. I am a Biology, Psychology and Neuroscience triple major. I started out as a Physician Assistant Major but changed after half a semester to those three.

Yep. I've changed mine around a lot.

I did my first year as a Communications major (thought I'd be a film director).

Changed into Computer Science (thought I'd design amusement park rides).

Did some soul-searching and realized I loved working with people to help them through their dark times; decided to be pre-med.

I am now double-majoring in [Behavioral Neuroscience] Psychobiology and Biotechnology. I may pick up a third degree -- a BA in Chemistry -- to improve my chem skills. Also, I need classes to bring up my GPA, so I might as well pick up another degree.

I also have a totally useless minor in Psychology.

I was a Biology major and a Kinesiology minor. I started out a Kinesiology major but decided that I took so many bio classes that it was just easier to switch to a bio major and a kines minor.

Nuclear Eng-->Physics--> Biochem(maj)/stats(min)

Was looking at hard sciences for 1st 2 years. went to school intermittently for 10 years and then decided to take life sciences and get the fastest degree I could with my credits earned. Current school's physics program is too small without enough different class times for a nontrad like me.

I really like mj1878's and the OP's combo. Foreign languages are great if you are able to keep it relatively fresh. 👍

I'm a bio major and a german minor...they like the foreign language because many people can only speak one so stick with the german!

I was a public health major. It was actually a great major to have (pretty low stress) - and it was useful for getting into a MPH program later on.

mine was economics-- i graduated in 3 years because i wanted to get the hell out of school and start working.. i hated school, i thought of it as a means to an end and wanted to "find myself" in the real world.. i ended up with a 2.6 overall, knocking out B's and C's and not really caring

once i started working, i realized what i wanted to do and IRONICALLY i went back to school taking science prereqs, doing a complete 180-degree turn.. lovin school ever since.. i guess things change when you finally know what you want to do 🙄

Econ/health care systems. Originally was finance, destined to be an ibanker or consultant, then changed my mind halfway thru undergrad. I actually know few ppl who stuck to their majors all thru undergrad.

Biology Major with minors in Classical Civilization and Chemistry

Biological Sciences major with a Spanish minor. The DO at my OSU interview told me that the most interesting thing about my application was my Spanish minor. Just found out that I was accepted this weekend.

Biological Sciences major with a minor in Chemistry. Very typical of med applicants, I guess.

Only up to Calc I, which I could (and did) handle... Then I got to take stats as the other 3 credits of my math requirement.

Think you have one more semester of Pchem. Don't slack. 😀

hehe!! i only have pchem lab left (1 hr credit)..ive already taken the lecture portion whew 😉

I started out Biological sciences then switched to Liberal Studies with an area of concentration in natural science---when I found out many of my credits from my associate's degree would transfer over. Saved me years + tons of money.

Started off with just molecular biology, then during sophomore year I added a Spanish major.

art historybut i have been changing a lot. I started off as biology major but then decided i need to try architecture (i was always between being a doc or being an architect). I am glad i tried because that made my decision easier and now i know for sure that i coulnd not be anything else but doctor. I changed my major to art history because i realized that will be the last chance to study something else then sciences and because i have a great passion for art and architecture.

Business Administration -> Biology -> Psychology -> Chemistry -> Psychology (Graduated).

Went back to school as a physics major, finally got into DO school, didn't register after last semester.

Oh yeah, I'm 4 credits away from a minor in Chemistry. The only class I had left is Quant. 😉

I have said it a million times before. If I could do it over again, I would major in Chemistry, Physics, or doubled in Philosophy/Mandarin Chinese -- but only after getting an ADN so I could work PT as a RN.

started Biopsychology/Neuroscience, had a TERRIBLE bio teacher so switched to just Psychology, oh and nearly had a minor in Anthropology but didn't want to take another class... my post-graduate is in Health Sciences (Nutrition/Community health).

Molecular Biology and Microbiology major here....nice to see so many people with dual/triple degrees and minors too 👍

biomedical science major (like a bio major...but more focus on human science than plant/animal) medicinal chemistry minor

For me, it was the Biological Sciences and Spanish right from day one. I was fortunate enough to place into 300-level Spanish classes my first year. I didn't really think of the value of having those skills. All I knew is that I loved the language and the culture, and even though I cursed through the whole process of writing my Spanish major capstone paper and those damn 300-level Latin American History and Geography classes, I have still a greater appreciation and absolutely no regrets 🙂.

Molecular & Cellular Biology (MCB) => Double major: MCB & Classics => MCB (Classics minor)

I had to drop the Classics major when I realized it would take me an extra semester to graduate because the classes I needed weren't offered at the right time. Plus latin was not as enjoyable as I thought it would be. If I did it again I would consider a major in Art History as well. I would really suggest studying the humanities or something other than science. For me it was very refreshing to learn something different.
