What separates a non traditional student from a traditional student?
LMAO let me add some:When you are of the same age as your professors or older
When classmates think you are cool because of your older age, complain they can’t relate to their peers and ask for your input on their life decisions because they aren’t close to their parents even if you are the age of their parents!
When the size and volume of textbooks and course content appear far larger since you last went to school
when you recall in your previous attempt at science courses that scientists referred to non-coding regions of DNA as “junk DNA” but now are viewed as the holy grail and integral components of eukaryotic genomes
when you realize Cialis is a life saver for your marriage but students have never heard of it
I actually got publicly shamed and "cancelled" on my school's reddit page because I made a post giving kudos to a guy who I overheard in the school library walk up, politely compliment her, ask her number and if he could take her out. I just basically said, "Hey, whoever you are, that's cool man, don't stop doing that. Keep human interaction alive, people need to feel like more than a swipe! If she doesn't go out with you I will!" These kids basically shamed him as a sex offender for approaching her directly and shamed me for giving him props. Let's just say being a cougar definitely wasn't on my agenda during my post-bacc. I'd have been bored to tears. That was savage!
a guy in his late 20s, knowing I am married, told me he wanted to ask a girl in our class on a date. I told him “just approach her”.
He had a meltdown. Think spontaneous combustion. He screamed “no way! That’s not the way things are done today, are you crazy?!” and stomped off angrily. I was left sitting there completely baffled.
