What Schools to Apply to?

Hey guys, I will be applying this next cycle with a 3.8 GPA and an AA 23. I know that I am going to apply to all of the California schools. I was wondering what other schools I should apply to. I have done some research on here, but it's still hard to tell which schools are "good" that are OOS (not in California). If anyone with similar stats/application experience can tell me what schools they applied to, it would be greatly appreciated.

👍 Either purchase the ADEA guide or see if your library or pre dental advisor/pre dental club has a copy. It'll tell you pretty much anything you want to know about applying to dental schools

based on stats alone, you have a good shot at all of the ivys as well as the schools you mentioned. but california weather + instate tuition seems too good to pass up!

Here is my unofficial guide to the in-state / out of state question. I did my own research without the ADEA stats and had 8 acceptances by playing it safe.

Ivies... Privates like Midwestern, NYU, USC, Western, etc. State schools like Louisville, VCU, Buffalo, UNLV, etc.

You could also just apply to all of the schools to maximize your chances.

hey guys, thanks for all the replies. I do have the ADEA book, but I still was unsure. Thanks for the post dantemac, that really helped. I think I will apply to all of the California and Ivies, as well as UNLV and a few others just in case. I agree that it is pretty hard to pass up the nice weather and in-state tuition if I get in to a California school! Thanks again everyone.
