What score ranges puts you in the honors, high pass, pass bracket

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It depends on the institution and even the individual rotation, but the cutoff for honors is sometimes as high as 93 or 94.

for us its not so much a raw score as doing above some preset level on clinical evals, the shelf, and sometimes an oral exam. Since grades vary so much school to school, i don't know how your B+ will be interpreted. Your school should get with the times and give honors.

Thanks.

I guess it seems like at any rate, it'd be categorized ~ to a high pass.

From our grading scale, it is obscenely difficult to make an A. From others in my core site I've spoken with, many received "Bs" ...

I know the goal is to honor all your rotations, but if you happen to receive high passes/Bs on most your core 3rd year rotations, does this reflect negatively when it comes to residency application/interviews and acceptance?

Thanks

Grading systems are so variable that program directors find its hard to compare school to school, but if someone has all honors then certainly they would get more brownie points than someone who has all pass or high pass. It wouldn't affect it negatively tho, just not as positively.
