What shoes are OK in DS ??

I know dress code is usually scrubs. What about shoes ? I'm too cheap to buy Danskos. Can I wear crocs ? Are holes in the crocs okay, or do they have to be solid ? Are socks required ? Do people wear sneakers too ? Thanks.

Dude buy the danskos. I wish someone told me about them before. They're worn by practically every OMFS resident I know and by almost every physician at the hospital because they're so comfortable and can easily be slipped on and off. It's going to take you like a month to break them in.

You can't wear open toed shoes at the clinic. you also have to have socks high enough to cover your legs when you're sitting in the clinics.

They sell crocs without holes and with no slip soles.

No matter what the situation is, it's never ok to wear crocs...

oh ya! they're fugly but your scrub pants cover them so they look like loafers. all the physicians and nurses are rocking these ugly ducklings. i don't see a lot of dental students wearing them because we're sitting all the time but all the omfs residents who have to stand for hours in the operating room are wearing them.

We have to wear Carolina blue scrubs for all four years... Maybe you have to wear one color all four years, too! Id want to get something that you can wipe off and won't show stains. 🙂

I wear them to assist now and to be honest they don't look bad. Still white, maybe some visible scuff marks here and there due to me bumping into things, etc. Maybe I'll take a picture when I get home 🙂
