Hi

I have a BA in History with 2.4~5 ish GPA and I am thinking of going to dental school. after reading many threads, I realized that I do not have much chance of pursuing dental school. with my GPA, it sounds like
post-bac is out of the question. But I attended Community college and took some science courses and transferred to a 4 year university as a biology major. I just don't know what to do from here. please give me any helpful advice.

thanks

If I were in your position I would continue pursuing the BS in Biology and do well. Some dental schools will ignore your past poor performance if you have a few years of consistent good grades.

Why is a post-bacc out of the question for you? What is your science gpa? I think you might have to do a combo...take a few post-bacc courses to get a high enough gpa to enter a SMP. Then nail the DAT and you might have a good chance.

You might have to do post-bacc. That overall is too low.

Lets wait for UberlowGPA to respond... I think he had similar initial GPA and he made it.

You need to finish the biology major and have a really high GPA to make up for that GPA. If you can't do that, I think it's time to start looking elsewhere.

Tru dat.

In all honesty, if I were you, unless you're absolutely 100% dead set on being a dentist, I would look for another profession.
