  1. Pre-Dental
So I currently have a 3.4 cumulative gpa and a 3.25 BCP. But unfortunately I also have 10 W's, 5 of which I received during my mother illness and death.

I called the schools I wish to apply to and 8/17 said my prerequisites have expired. Some schools stated prerequisites cannot be older then 5 years, especially NY schools.

Based on my current situation do you think if I retake all my prerequisites over 2 years and receive a gpa of 3.8 or higher, I would be able to get into dental school even with my 10 W's or should I pursue another career?

1. You should take your pre-requisites over strictly because of the 5 year limit. It will give you an opportunity to shine being an older applicant.

2. Having 10 W's is alot, much greater than any average applicant who accrues withdrawals. Without knowing specifically what classes these W's exist in (I assume BCP classes?), it never looks good to have that many. You need to correct that perception.

3 of the W's are in my BCP classes. (Organic chem 2, A and P 1, and neurobiology) The others are in random classes that I tried to take.
