Hey guys, I am new to this forum so any links, references to other posts, or general advice are well appreciated. This may be a small wall of text, but please bear with me; I am desperate for guidance.
To start off, I have completed and received my bachelor's in Health Science from a 4-year state university. I ended up having an overall GPA of 3.7 and a GPA of 3.9 in my major course work and sciences. I did not receive such good grades in high school, but after seeing what I could do in college, my dream of becoming a doctor seemed within my limitations. As a result of all this, I am looking for more education, namely at a community college, to do medical school prerequisites (e.g. 2 years organic chem, 1 physics, 1 bio, 1 chem, 1 english, 1 math). However, upon light research via several forum posts on studentdoctor, I learned that doing community college courses are detrimental to my med school application and should be avoided.
Doing courses at a local community college was my plan A and plan B. Applying to my alma-mater or another 4 year university is not an option either since the Fall 2015 deadlines are past already. Maybe I should just take all my prerequisites at the local community college, but I do not want to commit years to something that will be less than adequate, or worse yet, looked down upon. Can anyone spare some advice?
