I like volunteering at the hospital and really enjoy doing it obviously. I want to continue to do that this summer. However, even though volunteering is great and doing a few college classes is great too, I feel that I should be doing something else.

Like an internship or something. I really don't know. Are there any other things I can do while still in HS (during the summer) other than volunteer work but is really interesting, worthwhile, and something I can put on a resume and talk about?

Any adivce you can give me would be helpful. Thanks.

Do your math dude. Review algebra I and II before going to Trigonometry.

Also, go get the girlfriend you like.

I'm going to be trying to get a volunteer position in a lab. The person who runs it has kids at my school, and, apparently, mentioned that she took high school summer volunteers. So, right now, I'm working on the resume and personal statement she asked for.

I don't know if you'll be able to find anything like this, but just keep looking around. There's a lot of stuff out there. Just keep googling! (or asking people. Some people have more interesting/useful contacts that you might think)

Hi Pepipanda,

Just curiously, does your hospital do research in the lab ? 🙂

Thanks

Why don't you look at a career your into like pharmacy
Why don't you see how it is as a pharmacists, you will also get paid i believe for internship
Plus you get some cash!

I doubt there are any internships you can get currently. Just take the the summer to get a regular job and make some money if you really want to do something. Review for classes so you can get your GPA up, and study for ACT if you think you need to study for it.

Do a summer job, or try to get work or research at a local museum. that stuff is always cool.

I'm applying for an internship at VCU for high school students so go to a university thats near you's website(not sure if thats correct grammar) and see if they offer anything

The place where I am hoping to do lab work is at a medical school which is also connected to a hospital, but I'm planning on doing my hospital volunteering someplace else(which also does lab research).

I live near this one area of town that people call pill hill because it has about 6 hospitals, a medical school, and a blood center, all inside a square about 2 miles wide.

Very good. Nice to hear about that. 👍
