Hello future doctors. I had a quick question: What should I include in AACOM's personal statement? Do I answer the infamous "Why I want to be a doctor?" I had a hard time preparing the essay due to the minimum space provided. Any suggestions for those of you who already finished it? What did you guys put?

Thanks & Best of Luck!

I too was running into the problem of what to write for the personal statement. I spent so much time writing the "perfect" essay, as I was under the impression that this is what you were supposed to submit for AACOMAS. To my dismay, I found that you can only submit a statment under 350 words! This got me thinking that this essay wasn't as important as our secondaries. PCOM confirmed this by saying that all we need to write for the AACOMAS personal statment is a BRIEF synopsis of "Why osteopathic medicine?". They also said that there is plenty of room to write longer essays on the secondaries. Hearing this really took the stress out of completing the application (although I guess it doesn't REALLY matter how fast I got that app in, huh!). Good luck everyone!
