sorry if this has been answered before. i'm going to some second looks, as i'm sure a lot of you are too. obviously, suit and tie for men was a must for interviews; are you guys gonna wear the same for second looks? i'm thinking yes, since the admissions/financial aid people will be dressed up, we should be too.

thoughts?

Call & ask. Some schools say "business casual", someone earlier today recommended jeans & tees at his school (NU, I think). I certainly wouldn't expect students to wear suits. Wear what you think you 'll wear on the first day of classes or something along those lines.

I was gonna go a step up from what I'd normally wear to class, but not quite to a suit. I was just going to wear khakis and a nice button-down shirt (no tie). It seems like everyone is worried about this, but I can't see it being as big a deal as people are making it sound. The way I see it, as long as you look nice and not sloppy it'll be ok.

Yeah, I would go with black slacks and a long sleeve button down shirt with a black belt, no tie. Just my $0.02

The consensus, as it has been mentioned on each "second look attire" thread:

Haha!!

well i called my school and they said casual, but this can be taken in a few ways. i'm also worried that other people will show up more dressed up, so i havent decided what to wear.

I just got back from a second look day, and here was the general clothing breakdown (for the guys anyway). Most people had nice pants and a nice button down shirt without a tie. Several people came in jeans, some people had a shirt and tie, and a few had suits. Pretty much every possibility was represented, but in the end no one cared.

hahahahahha. That made me crack up.

As a current medical student, I just wanted to make sure that you guys know that most schools have made their admission decisions by now. So, second looks are more for you to see if you would fit well at that school. With that said, think about what you saw the medical students wearing when you interviewed, and dress like that. You will never figure out if the school is a good fit if you stick out like a sore thumb. Just my 2 cents, but its pretty much the same for residency second looks.

well, i did the obvious thing and called the school (ohio state). i was told "business casual" and that i was not the first person to ask. i wore khakis and a nice shirt, no tie, and it was fine. but thanks to all for your help!
