Being an avid Blizzard Entertainments fan, I will be missing out on Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 🙁

I also think that it is going to suck that I'll be missing out on the following years of partying as young adults (post 21) with my friends from highs school and undergrad.

What are some of the things that you guys will be missing out/have to give up because of D school (i.e. marriage/love)?

I'll be missing out on some quality Dota... 👎

Not sure what school you will end up in, but @ UCSF the party'n is very much alive and well. It may not be with your undergrad/high school peeps, but trust me, you will bond with many of your classmates and have a great time!

Kinda the old, "Work hard,..Play hard" type of thing.

Oh please, we all know blizzard can't put anything out less than 5 years after it's original release date.

i can't wait for starcraft 2.

i was f'ing bomb at sc, and still am. i just finished me exams so message me if you want to play..

im done with undergrad!!! ayeahhhh

what am i NOT gonna miss out on??

You graduate in 2011 and are worried about this?

Exactly why I am worried about this because knowing them, those games will probably come out pretty close to my graduation date if not when I'm (hopefully) in D-school. Ahh but I guess I should put vid games aside so I don't risk getting carpal tunnel or something, haha.

I will try to not miss out on anything in d school=) I guess I will find out if that is possible when I actually start it.

It's possible. My friend's in med school, and she goes out a lot more than she did when she was in undergrad. She's always going out to bars and concerts and parties. She's not a mega super genius. She just doesn't have an interest in going into a top speciality, and she's willing to sacrifice her grades a little to have fun. It helps that she lives in a big city, though, because a lot of things are very close / easy to get to.

Med school doesn't equal dental school, at least at Stony Brook. The med students have one basic science course plus two others (foundations of medical practice and some public health type class) while we are currently juggling radio, operative, intro to clinic, oral bio I, and physiology. We basically always get out at 5pm while they get to be done at 3. Not to mention the extra time needed for preclinical courses, like operative and morphology. Oh, and a test and/or quiz at least every other week in our dental classes.

It is hard for me to believe that med school is easier than dental school.

I'll be missing out on ample MMA/Jujitsu time ;/ I rolled with some guys last night, and got all the skin peeled of my knuckles...something that likely won't fly in dental school. I'm going to try wearing gloves, but I know I'll have to think twice about throwing any punches where I might hit the guy in the crown of his head...breaking a finger would not be good...

Are you referring that expensive dates are 20 bucks?

👍👍👍

That made my day.

Btw, to everyone who's worried about SC2 destroying their lives... GameStop has already start taking preorders for SC2 at store locations. The release date they have in their system is June 20th. So if you can exhaust the game during the summer, you should be fine in DSchool. Then again, there are two other campaigns released afterwards...

Man those blizzard @$$holes, you know theres an expansion pack coming out like in august. The first version is almost always a test version. Take a look at WC3. Reign of chaos was jacked up in terms of armor types and what not. Then they perfected it in frozen throne.

Haha, I feel like Blizzard might pull a fast one on us but I'll just be hopeful.

No, I'm referring that you can end up spending all of your money, because of an expensive date. It does happen, hopefully not to often for some.

Those in big cities... not much. Those going to Stony Brook.. welcome back to civilization in 4 years!!!

I plan on missing out on tons and tons of frustration looking for a job as a fresh college graduate in a lagging economy.

Sometimes all you have to do is look at the bright side of things. Wow, it sure is getting bright over here, better put my shades on before I damage my retinas. 😎

😴 a whole lot of sleep

I'm with you...Sleep! I have 3 kids and a wife to take care of at the same time as going to school! Sleep will be the thing that I will miss the most of!

A close second will be golfing!

It is hard for me to believe that med school is easier than dental school.

I have a general surgeon friend who was a dentist before he went to med school. He said dental school was harder for him...but I wonder how much of that has to do with the fact he did med school after dschool which would make med school much more doable. I'm pretty sure neither is easy. Different strokes for different folks I guess!
