just wondering

Who claims you? Where do you pay taxes? Do you have Cali driver's license? Ask these questions yourself.

I would assume you pay your own rent and bills etc, so you would be a resident of wherever that is. If not, I guess just go with who pays for everything and where you would consider your permanent address.

If one of your parents claims you as a dependent on their tax return, then I'm pretty sure that state is your state of legal residence. But it can get murky.

I don't know if you can go with the taxes thing a lot of divorced couples make arrangements about who get to claim which child... I know my step dad and mom did that. I second the Murky thing

Problem solved: whichever state you want to go to school in. 😉 Just make sure you can legally count as a resident, just in case.
