Does anybody know whats up with Michigan, it seems that the admissions commitee still has not met and made any post Jan 15th decisions? Is this still due to the school trying to fight the ban on AA according to Prop 2?

I'd be greatly interested if anyone has heard anything or has any insider knowledge.

I interviewed after Dec. 1 and as soon as they cleared up the AA problem (around Jan 12th) they sent out more letters of acceptence

Don't be dooped jim. AA = Affirmative Action. The state of Michigan passed a proposal in November that eliminates race as a consideration for admission to all state-funded institutions. UM has been fighting this tooth and nail. Until their appeal to delay the proposal until the next admissions cycle is decided, I believe, it will be business as usual at the UM Dental School.

I heard otherwise from my uncle who runs the outreach program at UM dental school. The ban on proposal 2 did slow things down for the process, since now with applications they don't have to consider race, gender, ethnicity or basically anyone who isn't a white male. So yeah, my uncle said since I'm a woman, I might've had things slowed down for me or I don't know if I'll get in at this point. I have a gpa of 3.7 and a dat of 21AA/22 PAT and haven't heard nothing from them since the interview in October. I did call them to find out what's going on, but I'm not getting much for answers, the only answer I get is: keep waiting or don't jeopardize your other acceptances for UM, go save a seat. Doesn't leave me with much hope of getting an acceptance to my number 1 school.🙁 But from what I last heard is they'll decided on more acceptances after they finish their last interview date on Feb. 2nd. Best luck to all of you that are still waiting on UM👍

I haven't heard anything from michigan either and I had an interview on December 1st. Did anyone who had an interview then get accepted yet?

so it seems as if michigan is not only holding acceptances but also rejections too?? if you interviewed before dec 1 wouldnt you think that they would know by now if they want to accept or reject you?? i havent seen anyone with a post that says they got rejected from michigan post interview???

I think most of us found out already that interviewed before dec 1st. I withdrew which I'm still a little sad about. AZ stole my heart so hopefully that will be an open space for others.
