I thought it's usually beginning of June but the advisor from dental school said AADSAS will have application available in May. Can I send the application material in May, then?
i'm confused~~

If you check this link,

<a href="http://www.adea.org/AADSAS/calendar.htm" target="_blank">http://www.adea.org/AADSAS/calendar.htm</a>

it is the AADSAS claendar for 2002 cycle it states that the App is avaliable in March. It should be about the same each year. I started filling out my online app then. It allows you to save it and make changes. You can submit it anytime after you get it all filled out. ALSO! You can send it in without DAT scores or you can send updated scores.

Big point here: Be as early as possiable! If your packet is about average, or even upper average, the best ways for you to stand out is to #1 have an early package, #2 have a good, HONEST, letter that reassures them that you can do it and that you will not quit and #3 there is no number 3.

I hope that helps, humor and all, keep asking questions, I feel that the only way I learned how to apply is by asking questions and poking around untill I found a good answer.

Good luck!

As quantumhead pointed out, the AADSAS paper packet will be available in March and can be downloaded from the website.

The electronic version, which is much easier, for the 2003 entering class will be available online beginning May 15.

The first AADSAS applications will be processed and mailed out to the schools beginning June 1.

thanks, guys. Your replies clarified a lot of things. <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

Hey guys,

I had a couple questions. Please answer this only if you 100% know the answer. AADSAS says that they will start sending your application to the schools starting June 1.

1.) So does that mean that you can send your application to them as soon as it is available, but it will only get sent to schools June 1?

2.) Regarding the DAT. I looked at this years application and it has a column for your DAT scores, but also states that if you haven't taken the DAT, state the DAT when you are planning to take it. So, in other words does that mean that one can send in his/her application without taking the DAT, as long as the official scores are send in by you? Which will naturally occur since you are paying the Testing Service to Send out your scores?

Thanks in advance.

1. From what I know, I'm 99% sure that AADSAS does NOT begin to process applications UNTIL June 1st, and if you send things in before it'll just be thrown out. After you send in your AADSAS stuff, it'll take some time to process and then they'll send it to the schools...they also send you a confirmation sheet which has ALL of your grades, and info and you're supposed to make sure its all correct.

2.Yes, you can apply w/out having taken your DAT and the scores will be sent later. Just put the date on which you plan to take the DAT.

I am in 100% agreement with simseema17 99% assurance. AADSAS post on their homepage when you can start sending your app to them. They then bundel the apps and and send them out in groups. It can take 5 to 6 weeks for them to process the app after you submitt it to them. ALSO, they (like most schools) will not tell you if your app is incomplete, it is your responsibility to check up in it.

The DAT, you can take it after you send your app. This goes to the Dental school seperate from your AADSAS packet. (With a seperate fee). When you take your DAT you put down the schools you want to send it to, you can add more later (for another fee). The DAT can be taken every 90 days, so if you don't like your score and work to do better, tell the school you are planning to retake it.

My two bits from my experience and research.
