When is the expected deadline for department letter?

Hey guys,

I have been pretty stressed because my medicine department letter is not yet in, and I have sent reminder emails to the attending without any replies. I know that it is still early, but at what point should I be more aggressive in reminding him? I guess my question is at what point should the department letter def be in? Do programs expect it to be in around the same time as the dean's letter? I don't want to be annoying when he has so many letters to write, but at the same time I don't want to get my application delayed just bc of this letter since most programs require it.

At this point I don't know what I should do if he is not responding to my emails and I am getting a little frustrated. Anyone else having this problem w their letters?

I would give it a little more time. At my school, the department guarantees letters out by mid-October (which, in my opinion, is pretty late). Mine was just recently uploaded, however, of the few interviews I have received, all of the invites were before my letter was uploaded.
