hey guys

I was wondering when I should apply. I know that I am suppose to do this before the due date for each school but should I apply as early as possible or wait til I have a more favorable resume.

The advantage to applying earlier would be more spots!!! right?

In my opinion, I think it's best to contact those schools to which you are applying to ask this question. Some schools really like early applicants, while others don't give much preference. Some schools wait until a certain date before they review any applications. Most importantly, I have not come across a school in which one of the faculty or deans will not give you an honest answer to this question.

If you feel your volunteer and pharmacy career exploration opportunities are sufficient for application now, by all means, go for the early-admittance programs.

Applying early is the key for rolling admission schools that review, interview, and accept prior to their deadlines. For regular admissions, it won't nearly matter as much bu you still want to apply early.

The main reasons why one would want to withhold the application is to account for summer grades to boost up the GPA and to get a few pharmacy experiences, which is fine if you submit the application as soon as possible. Don't wait until your fall grades are posted before you send in your final application. PharmCAS's Academic Update window in December allows you to update your grades and there really isn't a big boost in your application by waiting unless you have a sub-par GPA followed by a really great fall semester. Even then, it's better to apply early to regular admission schools anyway.

Ditto. Unless you just started shadowing/getting pharmacy or other volunteer hours and you want those to be beefed up, then submitting now is usually better than submitting later. You may not gain a huge advantage, but applying later may become a disadvantage.

you don't want to rush your personal statement (if that's the only thing keeping you from submitting)..

i'm very tempted to finish up my personal statement quickly to submit my application but i'd rather submit my application a couple of weeks later with a good personal statement than with a rushed one
