Where can I get a few extra shadowing/clinical hours while working full time?

I'm working full time while applying and I would like to add some shadowing and clinical volunteer hours to send in an update letter to schools I'm applying to. Where are some good places to look for these opportunities outside of the 9-5 M-F time period?

Night free clinic. The clinic I volunteer at doesn't start until after 6:30.

Sometimes hospitals can use a volunteer around dinner time - usually from 5-8 PM to relieve the nurses while they get the patients their food. Talk to the volunteer services coordinator and talk about this. Also, you could try to strike up a conversation with a doctor and ask if you are able to shadow them for a few hours. ER and urgent care doctors usually have some night shifts.

A lot of hospitals use volunteers for transporting discharged patients, and they do that on the weekend too. Just call all the hospitals in the area. Alternatively you could look into helping at nursing homes.

Thanks, those are all good ideas. I found an after hours clinic (not free but I'll try) and I'll contact some ER departments. Hopefully it won't be too bad setting something up in the near future.
