hi there! i need some advice please...

i really want to become a doctor. i'm interested to study in japan, but some people just don't agree with that. my other choice would be canada. i found some good universities in japan, like touhoku, keio, and the university of tokyo. any suggestions on other good places to study medicine? or universities in canada or japan? i still have a few years to go before i actually get into university, but i'd like to start thinking about it from now. i've got pretty good grades in school and i'm trying to be better than my best... so if anyone has any suggestions/advice/or other comments for me?

thanks 🙂

If you want to go to medical school over seas, you should definitely also consider Australia and the UK. They both have outstanding medical schools that would give you a top notch education. The only medical school that I've ever heard of in Japan is Dokkyo Medical University. I hear its a great school, but I don't know how it compares to others. As far as Canadian medical school rankings check out this site: http://www.ivyglobal.ca/MCAT/med_schools_canada.asp it gives a rundown of the 'top' canadian schools.

Where are you a citizen and where do you hope to eventually practice medicine?

thanks a lot! that website really helps. 😉 how hard do you think it would be to get a scholarship in the UK?

i live in indonesia right now. like i said before, i'm interested in japan and canada. i didn't really think about 'where' till just recently.

Where do you eventually want to practice medicine? If you want to practice in the U.S. going to a medical school in another country will be unnecessary and can become problematic for you. You should seriously consider that before trying to apply out of the country.

yeah, i've decided not to take medicine in Japan. now i'm thinking about the U.S, U.K, Canda, or Australia. probably because they have high standard education and they're in English! 😀 does anyone know any good universities in any of those places that offer scholarships for asian students (indonesia hopefully)? i know that oxford offers in India, but not for most asian countries.
