For those of us who apply to tons of schools, I wonder where can we find the cheapest passport photos? I'm living in Austin, TX. Thanks guys.

PS. I just googled and found out that CVS offers $6.99+Tax for 2 photos. Do you guys know any cheaper places?

Just take your own photo, gussy yourself up in Photoshop, and get it printed on a 4x6 sheet of 6 passport sized photos. Each sheet should be less than $0.25 each.

buy the 2 photos for 6.99, scan one of them, put it in a word document, copy/paste/copy/paste/copy/paste until you fill up the whole document with the photos (you might want to make the margins 0.1 to fit as many as you can), go to kinko's, have them print out that page on photo paper... repeat as necessary...

Costco has them 2 for 4.99. But they might have a deal if you buy like 10 or more, because I remember paying less than 20 and I got at least 10 photos.

COSTCO COSTCO COSTCO.

10 photos for 9 bucks. pretty cheap.

I took my own with a large megapixel camera, resized them to the correct size and printed a whole page at kinko's for under a dollar. It got me through all my secondaries. Good Luck

A digital photo is really best, not only because it saves on printing costs, but because many schools ask you to upoad a photo to their application website. If all you have is a printed picture, you'll have to scan it ans the quality will suffer.

I suck at taking pictures, so I went to my local camera shop, where they take passport photos. But since the guy uses a digital camera, I brought a CD with me and asked him to just put the file on the CD instead of printing it. The picture cost $12, but it came out really well and I've gotten many compliments on it.

When I needed paper copies, I printed them myself at home.

what's the verdict on non-passport photos? can mine be a photo of me outside and cropped to the right size? i've got such a good photo; i don't want to waste money getting passport ones...

why do u need so many photo print outs? most of them are digitally uploaded

definitely... lots of people do that... in my opinion, it shows personality. Just make sure it's not too unprofessional.

secondaries say photos are optional. Do you think it's a big deal if I don't include a photo with my secondary?

Theoretically no, it shouldn't make a difference. However, one of my interviewers told me that after the interview, when they all sit down in the meeting to make the final decision about whether to accept you or not, they like to use the picture to remember you. They are making decisions about multiple people they've interviewed that week, which would it make it harder to remember you if they didn't have something like a picture to look at.

I'm not sure how many schools do this, but putting in a picture can only help you. I strongly recommend including one.

I see, that makes sense. But what if you're ungodly ugly (speaking on behalf of my friend of course)?

If you give the interviewer just a glimpse of your personality, they will fall in love with you. That's why you need to put in the pic - so they can remember who you are in the meeting. Besides, I am sure you're hot. Stop thinking about it too much.

Of course I am!!

I was just worried for my friend.😀

just curious, are you guys wearing shirt and tie in yours? or something more casual?

If you were too ugly for a photo, then you were too ugly for the interview. Get a photo done where you look profesisonal and neat. After you find one that is acceptable, make several dozen copies because you are going to need these for many things in the future. Thses "passport" photos are not the time to be cheap or unprofessional looking.
