I'm curious as to which school in the U.S has the happiest dental students. In terms of how productive the faculty/student interactions are and if there is a balanced culture instead of the us vs. them mentality. Please sound off!

One of my high school teachers said the way to pick a school is to walk around it and look to see which place has the most students smiling. As far as I saw that was USC.

Do not take this high school teacher's advice.

I don't think there's a way to answer this question. First, "happiness" is extremely subjective; and second, people only go to one dental school anyway so they cannot compare between multiple schools.

Those were actors. They get free whitening in exchange for looking like happy dental students. Only in CA.

How many schools did you interview at?

Indiana!

oh wait. that is the only one I have ever attended....

I guess everyone else is right and when you go to a bunch of schools and walk through the halls and see pasty white, unshowered, greasy, stressed out students, with worry written all over their faces and their hair falling out like I saw at most schools, that's a good indication that the student body is generally happy.

Obviously the place with the best student experience completely depends on what you make of it. In my class there are those who love their experience and those who complain about it every single day.

Interesting because both students are having pretty much the same experience.

Every school has its "goods" and "bads." Make it a great experience, be positive, and any where you go will be the best experience for you. Don't pay too much attention to what others say on this topic and go in positive where ever you go.
