I know that many dental schools look for biochemistry as a pre-requisite. So I looked into my schools biochemistry course and my school actually has a biochemistry course in the biology department in addition to the chemistry department. I don't know which one to take... any suggestions? Thanks!🙂

same course, same professor, same...(at least in my school) IMO take from BIOL department. They count Biochemistry in the catogory of upper level biology(what they like a lot!) 👍

It's the same course for us its just listed under both categories cuz it counts dtowards both chem majors and bio majors.

Right?

in my school chem-bio is harder than bio-chem for some reason.

But really, WHICH biochemistry is accepted from the chemistry department? I see two different courses, a lower level seemingly "introductory" biochem and a biochem that says it requires organic chemistry and has a lab course that's available. I'm not sure if they want you to take the upper level one without the lab or just the basic introductory one? On that "pre-reqs" thread, some schools list 3 credit biochem, or 4 quarter, or 4.5 quarter, or just say 1 semester biochem, etc (Notice the lower level "intro" one is 3 credits, while the upper level one is like 4+ credits I believe; so I'm leaning toward thinking they just want the intro course, but I'm afraid of wasting my time taking it for nothing if that's not the case!)

Intro. Biochem at my school is crosslisted under both biology and chemistry. I was planning to minor in chemistry back in junior year so I took it under the chemistry department. Should have taken it as a bio but I told my pre-health committee to mention this in the LOR.
