Which EC should I cut from my list?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I would drop #1 - if you say yourself that it's "nothing special," then don't include it to save space.

I disagree-- I think it looks good to have regular employment experience so I would not cut #1. Can you add the hospital volunteering into the nursing clinic volunteering? Or maybe consolidate #5 and #12 as undergrad research? I think you should include the hospital volunteering, and find a way to consolidate something else that you have multiple slots for currently.

You could consolidate all of your internships into one activity since you haven't marked any of them as "most meaningful." You would just have to keep the descriptions of each brief and list a contact for two of the three at the end of the description. That would free up two spaces.

You do not have to have 15 activities. I have had my share of interviews and I filled 13/15. I would keep the college employment because it can help put the rest of your application into context. Definitely include the volunteering. Most hospital volunteering is stereotypical, but you should still show that you have it because everyone else will. This is even more important if you think you may be lacking in clinical experience. Better safe than sorry.

I'd combine your summer internships or your thesis with the research leading to the thesis. You could combine the clinical volunteering of you want, but I'd try to highlight it as much as you can. Employment, even if nothing special, is good so I'd keep that.

Thanks for your input everyone! I can't really combine the thesis and the non-science research, because they were on two completely different topics. I think I'm going to combine summer internships 2 and 3, as they were both international public health related. Does this seem okay? It doesn't seem like a good idea to consolidate something as important as clinical experience, even if one of the activities was less important.

Thanks again!

I actually combined my clinical experiences, and listed the hours. I have a few interviews to boot. I think it's okay -- clinical experiences either are just ticked off or a completely integral part of your app, imo. There isn't really enough space to elaborate on everything

This is a great idea! Good luck!

Really? I'm wondering if that sentiment is limited to fluff awards and school honors.

Well, if you have a Purple Heart or a Nobel Prize it might be worth mentioning but most of the honors I see are school awards and prizes for high GPA which we can see on your application anyway.
