which goljan!

there's a 300+ page rapid review goljan and a 700+ page one. Which is best???

I take it you're referring to Rapid Review Pathology and not the USMLE Step I review book (which is just questions, I believe?).

The 748 page version is the newest edition and what I would recommend. Don't let the size of the book intimidate you since a lot of the difference is made by the addition of gross and histopathology images. Like the previous edition, it goes along perfectly with the audio lectures.

Maybe the OP means the new or old edition. I have both, just because I ordered one and never used it. I did a side by side comparison, and there's a few differences. The pages on the new one are slick, there is more organization, and there are more photos. Of course, the old one is 200 pages shorter. Still the same Goljan. Sorry if that's not what the OP meant.

Thanks guys, I was looking on amazon.com and was thinking that's a big difference in page number between thetwo books wasnt. I guess i wasnt sure if it was because it was a new edition or that it was a completely different rapid review.

Any suggestions of what would complement the goljan book? or any other subjects for that matter.

thanks again

I might be a bit biased, but I would recommend the Goljan audio files -- available at your local medical school through the usual pirated sources I am certain. Actually, what you use depends upon what you use it for -- I used Kaplan videos and Robbins (medium size) for the actual class -- Goljan audio and RRS is great for review.

I'm thinking of using Goljian rapid review for path, BRS physio, Clinical Micro made ridiculously simple, first aid, and qbank. Is that fairly comprehensive or do you guys think we should be using more books?
