Which is the most professional way to decline an Acceptance?

Should it be done by a phone call or email? Anyone have experience with this before? I would like to do so in a professional/polite way, while not downplaying the significance of the acceptance.

Personally, I think calling is overkill (plus could turn out badly if not handled well) and e-mail just seems a bit informal, so I guess the old-fashioned mail seems the best.

I would say imagine they rejected you and use whatever method they would use to do so. If they reject via email, email them. If they reject via letter in the mail, then mail them a letter.

I hope you know I genuinely did not post this to brag, however, I cannot decide on how to approach this situation. Thank you for the congratulations, as I cannot wait to begin pharmacy school!

I would send in a letter thanking them for the opportunity to attend their school and tell them that after careful consideration, you have accepted an offer to attend pharmacy school elsewhere.

I believe writing an old fashion letter would be the best way to go about it to emphasize that you have taken the time/thought to do so.

Anyway, if you don't mind me asking... what was your PCAT/GPA since I've notice that you have an acceptance to LECOM-B which is one of my choices for pharmacy school?

Email works just fine, but I agree with an old school letter. People like getting personal mail. It shows time and thought.
