so i keep seeing horror stories of people saying they had a calculation heavy ps and were unprepared, etc. none of the five aamcs I've taken to date (3, 4, 6, 8, 10) were really tough in terms of calculations. I'm wondering what practices might be more representative of a calculation heavy ps? I've taken almost all the gs exams, is that sort of what's meant? they're good practice but I'd say they're far from realistic in terms of a variety of questions (gs 9 had 15 questions on optics, wtf). would Kaplan possibly have some calculation heavy ps sections?

thanks!

What prep materials do you have? If you have EK1001 for physics and gen chem there are hundreds of calculation heavy problems. Aren't you getting 40 on your practice tests though? I don't think you need to worry about being blindsided.

I'm finding i really need to have extra time to check my work in order to score high, and calculations erode that time. yes, i did well on that one practice, but aamc10 was so light in terms of calcs i could go through the entire ps a second time to check.

I'll give my ek books a try- i have them but haven't used them at all in favour of tbr and practice exams.

anyone else know what something calculation heavy might resemble?
