depends on the individual. I sucked bad at general chemistry, but did fine in organic and upper level bios and physics.
Hi Army! I'm curious to know why (in your opinion) you did better at Organic over General!

Exactly.I'm not ArmyBound, but I can tell you why I had an easier time with Organic than Gen Chem -- MATH! I hate math. I do it because I have to do it, but if there's a class without math, chances are I'll like that class a lot more.
Gen Chem requires a lot of calculations while Organic is a totally different animal. You have to know the concepts to do well in Organic (don't try to memorize or else you might eventually screw yourself up with a more challenging problem), but once you learn the concepts -- which aren't difficult -- you can reason your way through many problems you might not have seen before.
I know Organic gets slaughtered on these boards, so I guess it depends on your professor. I had an amazing professor who really tried to pound the concepts into our heads. I'm in Organic II now and I made sure to sign up for the same professor for just that reason.
