Compared to 3R, the difficulty of the test is not much in difference. Although I did comparably better in 4R, my score is EXACTLY the same for the two tests. I really didn't find 4R easier than 3R. For the verbal, there were about 4 science passages which would have brought up the curve, so i wouldn't complain about the verbal. Physical science had much reasonable questions than the 3R, which had a passage about perihelion, and some questions were not solvable without some background in math. BS section, felt much harder than 3R, more complex ORGO questions, which made me really scared. Am I the only one thinking 4R hard???

4R was by far my lowest test (didn't take 3R). By the way, 7-9 "feel" more like the real thing (more reading comprehension on the sciences rather than fact recall, particularly in biology).

Anyway...to compare...in order of PS/VR/BS (weeks out from test day)

4...12/9/12 (8)
5...14/11/13 (4)
6....13/10/12 (3)
7....13/11/13 (10)
8....14/9/15 (1)
9....14/12/15 (2)

Real MCAT: 14/12/14 😎

You have such high scores! 🙂 Well, I am scoring in 35 range now, so I hope I could get it up to your range!

AAMC 4 used to be in the old MCAT format (65 verbal questions, some different biological science questions). When they altered the test, I guess they didn't make the curve fit accordingly.

it has 60 verbal questions. I think you took the princeton review version one, which they modified some verbal and BS section. I don't know why they changed the questions which seem hard as it is.

Yeah, R=revised and pre-2003. They changed the test in 2003 to put verbal 2nd instead of 1st and take out 5 verbal questions. Also, I really can't stress the reading comprehension component of the newer tests enough. It just isn't as well represented by the "revised" tests, they just feel "old". I would take one of 7,8, or 9 now (I thought 8 was the hardest) just to grasp what I am saying.

would somebody please send me the solutions to 4R i have the old 4 solutions and the answers are in different order.

i took it today, havent graded it yet(TPR got the wrong answers or something) but it seemed tougher than 3r especially the bs section.

Not sure what you mean by VR 2nd instead of 1st but the order of the tests has been the same to my recollection since at least 1996. I'm pretty old and I may have forgotten the order. But I thought it was always PS-VR-WR-BS.

You are my hero!

4 was actually one of my better ones. took it about a month ago and scored a 10-13-10. CBT 6 has been my worst one so far with a 10-9-9. but i think the fact that i had little kids running in circles around me during VR and people literally fist fighting next to me during BS might have had a hand in it. i love my local library.
