For example, from AZPod's website:

To initiate the competitive selection process, applicants must complete an application packet, which must include:

1) A completed Application for Admission form (a non-refundable application fee will be also be due to the AACPM Application Service [AACPMAS]).
2) Two letters of recommendation.
3) Official transcripts. Applicants must submit official transcripts from every undergraduate, graduate, or professional school that they have attended or are currently attending. These transcripts must be signed and sealed by the registrar at each institution.
4) Official MCAT score report.

Same thing at Temple.

I might be reading it wrong, but does this mean that they wants you to send an additional copy of your transcripts to their school? What is the point of this when it's already included in your AACPMAS application? Can anyone familiar with Azpod or Temple comment on this?

I was granted an interview at Temple, and I did not send them an additional copy of my transcript aside from what I submitted to AACPMAS. The only thing you should be sending them is your letters of recommendation. Your transcripts and MCAT scores are processed by AACPMAS.

Answered my own question. For anyone wondering, I found the answer on the AACPMAS website:

Q: Will AACPMAS send my transcripts to my designated schools and colleges of podiatric medicine?

A: No. The transcripts that you are required to send to AACPMAS DO NOT get forwarded on to your designated schools and colleges of podiatric medicine. Upon specific request, you may need to send an official transcript directly to the school.

Q: Should I send official transcripts directly to my designated schools and colleges of podiatric medicine?

A: No. Official transcripts required by AACPMAS for purposes of verifying the academic coursework on your application are to be sent to AACPMAS ONLY. Unless specifically requested by the institution, the schools and colleges of podiatric medicine will not use transcripts for the purposes of processing and evaluating your application.

The only time you should be sending your official transcript directly to the school is when you receive your acceptance letter and have decided to matriculate at that school. Good luck during this cycle for those who are applying!

Is this necessary even if you have no new classes to update? I don't know about you but it costs me money every time to send transcripts & I'm cheap! 🙂

BUSPM requires official transcripts to be sent directly to the institution if you have been accepted and are planning on matriculating to our program. Reasoning, is for accreditation purposes.
