the curve for Kaplan VR is reaaaaaaaally steep compared to other tests like AAMC.

ive missed 12 on a AAMC test and still got a 9...i've missed 12 on a Kaplan test and received a 7......😕 the passages aren't that different for difficulty.

Its even worse for the PS section! I missed 23 questions on the Kaplan test and got a 10!!! I've never missed that many questions on the AAMC tests and have never gotten higher than an 8......

what should i be looking at to mark progress? the difference in physical science is huuuuge! is the curvev really going to that big?

i think kaplan is supposed to be a lot harder than aamc. trust the aamc scores...

just mho though

The curve in kaplan helps the rich and hurts the poor. You could miss a good amount of questions on kaplan and still get 14-15 while it would normally correlate to a 12 on AAMC. Also, if your talking about the diagnostic, the curve is really positively skewed so I wouldnt worry about it too much all the companies make the first test impossible to do well on. idk why but that seems to be the trend.

i bought a kaplan book that has two full length tests in it. i just did it for extra practice...i take the real deal on the 27th. im gonna take one more AAMC test and thats about it.

you know...i always thought that was the case. especially when i miss about 6 on the bs and still end up with a 13. But, i took an aamc the next day and ended up with really similar scores (in fact, aamc is higher) so maybe their scoring isnt complete crap. It could have been coincidental though...But bloody is right, it does help the rich and hurt the poor.
