My wife wants to go to medical school. She is a 27 year old African American Woman who went to nursing school with a nursing school GPA of 3.52

We live in Nevada, Las Vegas to be specific.

She graduated from CSN with an associates degree in 2015, general studies
Associates in Nursing 2017
Bachelors in nursing in 2020
She won a clinical excellence award in nursing school, the only one awarded.

Worked as RN for 7 years. Has a lot of clinical hours.

Very dedicated to doing post-bacc/grade repair or enhancement

Her science GPA (she has not taken organic 1/2 with lab, physics 1/2 with lab yet, and she will retake biochemistry as it was P/F and doesnt count towards GPA calculations at the local university,) was 2.7 before taking any of these classes, 3.2 general cumulative GPA for undergrad.

She would take the MCAT summer 2025.

She would get volunteer hours within the next year, she sporadically volunteers.

She will get shadowing within the next year as well, aiming for 200 hours.

She always wanted to be MD, but was financially unstable, becoming a nurse was a faster route to money while still being in the medical field

Okay. Sounds like a good start. The issues would be getting more shadowing with physicians separate from nursing work, and more community service outside of clinic. Definitely she needs to connect with mentoring organizations for Black physicians like SNMA.
