Will there be a second wave of interview invites after Oct. 15?

I wonder if this second wave will occur after people begin to get acceptances. I am thinking many applicants will withdraw applications if they get into their top choices, thus freeing up some new slots.

What do you think? I sure hope so because I am still interview-less.

I know that if I get into any of the schools I've interviewed at so far, I will definitely be canceling some interviews. I'm grateful for the invites, but don't think I would choose to go the latter schools over an acceptance from the schools I've interviewed at so far.

Many people that get acceptances may still hold onto future interviews for various reasons. Some still haven't heard from their top choices, some will try to compare the financial aide packages offered, some are trying to make sure they get into a school close to a loved one, and some will want to rack up as many acceptances as possible.

There are some schools that haven't even started looking at applications yet (but will start this month - UC Davis for example), so I am sure more "waves" of interviews are on the way.

Good luck all!

bump. what do you guys think?

Sigh, Yes, to finally answer OP's question. October 15 doesn't mark the end of application review, so therefore there are more interviews to be doled out. You should still be okay - provided you're destined to get an interview this cycle, don't despair that it hasn't happened yet. There's still plenty of time left in this cycle.

Well, it depends on which schools.

I think that the classic "safety" schools will indeed see people cancel interviews after people learn that they have gotten into a more preferred school. So, schools like, say...NYMC...and similar schools should have interview slots open up after Oct 15.

But the truth is that many schools only schedule interviews about a month out at a time, so it is hard to say that a wave of slots will open up.
