I heard back from 3 schools so far. 1 of them accepted and 2 wait listed. The one I got accepted at was my favorite of the three so I was wondering if there's any reason to remain on a wait list or should I just withdraw from the other two and leave that spot for people who want it?

The only thing I'd be worried about really is scholarships/financial aid but I don't know if they give much money to people coming off the wait list and my one accept school is in state so it's already cheaper.

I won't hear back from any other schools until at least December.

Totally up to you. Probably won't affect much in the grand scheme of things either way. Withdrawing may be marginally better for the rest of the pool but probably not. Keeping them will be marginally better for you. And yes, waitlist applicants are eligible for and do get financial aid and scholarships, but this obviously varies depending on the schools.

If there's no chance you'd go to the other two, I encourage you to withdraw from the waitlists. Do so with a polite e-mail indicating that you've accepted an offer of admission from elsewhere (you don't have to say where) and wish to remove your name from the waitlist. That won't burn any bridges and it may help some other poor soul.

The only way I'd attend one of the other two if accepted is if they were significantly cheaper than the first. I wouldn't hear back from the wait list till spring anyways so I guess I can wait a bit longer and see when I'll hear back about financial aid form the first one before withdrawing.

No schoolis required to provide any financial information until after you have committed to attend

The one I'm accepted at specifically told me we'd hear back before we need to make a financial decision

But the waitlist ones may not

True, they did say in the email that they could have the financial info within 24 hours of being pulled off the wait list if I fill all the forms out now. But yeah I'll have to just wait it out and see then since I won't know unless I actually get off of it. I guess unless I get a reasonable package at my accepted school I should wait and see what happens.
