Withdrawing from schools

I'm sorry if this is an ignorant question...

If you are no longer considering a school, is it considered bad form to just decline an interview if you happen to get one, or is it significantly better to withdraw from the school before you even get to that point?

If you've already decided, then do it now. If you do it before you get an invite, that's more time the school could be using to evaluate another applicant. Good luck with your rejecting (err, withdrawing from) your schools!
