I'd like to make a plea to all of you who are planning to withdraw from schools that you've either been accepted or waitlisted at:

Please, please send in your withdrawls ASAP.

Those of us on waitlists will be grateful to you. 👍 👍

Especially if you are accepted/waitlisted at Yale (for ChocolateKiss) or Duke (for me 😀 ).

me--from the waitlist

I think I'm going to withdraw from the Columbia waitlist, and I'm sure not sending any letters or updates... So, there's at least one person who's not in the competition anymore...

Yay! Wailist movement. Thanks for being considerate to others and withdrawing when you know you won't be going there. 👍

I'm withdrawing from the WashU Thrivers waitlist and the Hopkins high waitlist.

I figured I better follow my own advice.

One other thing I want to mention:

I was keeping my Hopkins waitlist just to see if I could get in (even though I wouldn't go there over my current acceptances), thinking that I wasn't hurting anyone. However, I realized that even keeping extra waitlist positions can really hurt other applicants by drastically increasing their wait time. If everyone kept only their real top choice waitlists movement would occur much more quickly. Also, people would get more accurate information about their order on ranked lists.

Just wanted to share the thoughts that prompted me to drop Hopkins and WashU...

I'll withdraw just as soon as the schools get me financial aid packages

I wish people who in the past claimed it did not hurt anyone read this, and perhaps it can be made a sticky for those who may want to think the same in the future.
