Are withdrawn courses factored into your GPA in any way? Or possibly looked down upon?

I wanted to pick up another major, so I overloaded with an extra course. I later found out that I would not be able to pick up that major due to course overlap, so I dropped that overloaded course (without academic penalty). However a "W" remains on my transcript. Do I have to report this? If so, how will this affect me?

They aren't counted on your GPA, but I have heard that an excessive number of withdraws is looked down upon.

You certainly have to report any "W's" you have received that are recorded on your academic transcript. They will not negatively (or positively) impact your GPA.

Typically a couple W's are not a bad thing over the course of an entire undergraduate/college career. But if you have more than ~5 this may be grounds for red flagging or raised eyebrows.
