Until recently, I thought the word search function was only speculation and had not been implemented for the MCAT. The good people at [email protected] informed me that there is, in fact, a word search function now available.

Since I have never seen this function, I'm wondering if anyone knows how to use word search on the new MCAT? Is is available in all sections, writing sample only, verbal only, etc.?

Check their practice exams, because that will give you the best answer. Anything else is speculation.

On the beta test, it was available all of the time, just like the periodic table. But what they do exactly probably won't be known until January 25 around 8:01 am.

word search!?
They're making it too darn'd easy for y'kids nowadays!

Seriously though, I can't imagine why they would implement this. A major point of the MCAT is being able to retain and recall information after reading it quickly.

They sent me a response email on October 28, 2008.

I agree with Vihsadas. This function is not necessary. They will probably have to curve it differently to make up for the fact that less reading comprehension and recall will be required...
