Working at CVS is complete HELL

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Seems like everyone I know in the pharmacy world hates their job. They all complain about the same issues... not being able to be a pharmacist. They are treated like car salesman to push a million incentives to meet goals. You better make sure that each customer, their spouse, their kids, and their pets all get a flu shot or you'll hear it from the DM.

Wow, just happened across this thread...this is like my thoughts being spoken by strangers. I've only been with the company since July, but I'm not a 24 year old new grad with starry eyes. The amount of BS being pushed down my throat with metrics and tech hours is laughable. All to keep those stockholders happy. A friend of mine who works at Walmart has less scripts than I do, yet has 5-6 techs on at a time to my 2-3. Then I get a "motivational" talking to my by supervisor because my promised time metric isn't up to snuff. When all of my techs are at the registers, how am I supposed to do QT, QP, and QV by myself?

My career with this company will be ending soon. I'm already planning my escape.

Prior to this thread while working for CVS, I used to think retail was retail. It is going to be bad anywhere. Now, I have realized how much more CVS has been consumed by corporate greed and managements negligence/lack of awareness. I kid-you-not there was a memo sent out to quit ordering trashcans for the pharmacy and use cardboard boxes instead...

The stock has reached $94/share. That's insane! I'm still happy I have shares back from when they were $34/share.

And yea.. anytime you need help or you are drowning, CVS supervisors will give you some BS "motivational" talk which will never ever help you out. Half the time it doesn't even pertain to what you are talking about and is 100% impractical.

Thank you very much! It really help clears things up. 🙂 I am still considering it regardless of how horrible it sounds. Employment = good. Hahaha. Besides, being employed means easier to find other employment... hopefully. 🙂

Since I am loving the anonymity of this site, one more question to toss out there... I am being offered $52.10 to move to the middle of nowhere (LITERALLY middle of nowhere).. It feels low. Or am I being unrealistic? Is negotiation even something that is done nowadays? Hahaha. 🙂
