Hi,

I'm a senior medical student in Canada, and was wondering what the working environments were like in dental clinics for anesthesiologists (stress level, production demands, difficulty of cases, shortage of backup)?

I've heard of a number of anesthesiologists in Canada working part-time in dental clinics as a means of reducing the number of call shifts they have, plus they're paid privately and make significantly more during these shifts than typical hospital OR days.

Thanks

there are many "mobile anesthesiologists" who provide service in dental offices for adults. Google it. They do well; cash. Need to work with a few dentists. Have protocols for preops/post ops/etc/accreditation.

You might want to PM aphistis, he is a dentist who did a residency in anes. He knows a lot about the two areas and how they work together. Good luck to you!
