Now that one vote will make me worry. :scared:

explain why? if you can 🙂 thanks!!!

Well if you're only looking at DO schools, with your ECs and stats a 25 would be enough. Assuming you apply to all DO schools, you will get in somewhere.

i would be looking at nycom, pcom, umdnj, University of new england, and LECOM.

I'd try to get a few more ECs in there - you seem kind of sparse in that department. Where's the non-clinical volunteering or the leadership positions or awards? You may already have them, just didn't list them.

I would go ahead and apply - you'll have a great shot I think.

good luck!!

oh i have many more EC but just didn't list them. I was a residential assistant, I tutored, organized education programs. etc

what does your MCAT look like? Is it even...8's 9

Of course retake the MCAT. It cannot harm you and only can help you. I went up 4 points without studying.

ain't no shame in a 25. i got a 25 and had no trouble getting interviews and acceptances, with a far lower GPA and no publications.

only re-take it you really think it would help. you sound like a great overall applicant.

My true answer will make people here think that I am a troll, so I will not say anything more.

good luck with whatever you decide to do

don't be shy...what is your true answer? I want to know it. Or pm me

Didnt you post the same thing in Osteo forum as another username?

theDr. = amoxicillian

i always knew that you two were the same person 😛

don't retake it unless you have tried to get in and have failed. It will most likely be a waste of money and time.

you're apply DO, don't retake. You're fine. And your lowest section is arguably the least important. If you were applying MD, you'd have to retake. But you're only a couple of points away from a competitive MCAT score for MD programs. If you got those other two values up to a 9, you'd be solid. But for DO, you're good to go. The average MCAT is what a 24-27 for DO schools.

Make sure you've shadowed a DO, know about why you want to be there. I think you're going to be okay.

I think LECOM will be a sure thing for you, I know MANY people who were accepted there with lower MCAT scores and a lower gpa

you're fine for next, year, this year may be a little late. As for your score, the breakdown is important. One of my friends was placed on interview hold at some schools and rejected because he did not get more than a 6 in verbal. His score was also 25, 10 bio, 10 physical, 5 verbal. English was his second language.

What do the DO schools care most about...the highest scores in bio, verbal, or PS? Also does anyone know if the schools look at allt he scores..the best scores...etc
