W's on a Transcript What do you guys think?

Hey so this is not for me it is for a friend... (not the type of friend that I say is a friend but everyone thinks its for me)

So he has 3 W's on his transcript. All 3 came from the same semester! I know they do not affect his GPA but he said that if they see it it all could hurt. Im wondering whether or not they really will affect. Like how do the schools see this and compare you to other students... Does anyone have any experience with this?? His gpa is around 3.2 but he has good dats with an aa of 21.

This is his second time applying but i think with these better scores and him applying in June will help him this time around.

What do you guys think?

As long as there is a good story to back it up, I don't see it being a red flag. Tell him to apply to over 10 schools and to look for the schools within his mean gpa and dat's.

W's aren't usually that big of a deal and often won't even be brought up, but 3 in one semester I would think would be brought up in an interview. As said, as long as he has a legitimate reason I think it would be fine.
