It seems like everyone is getting this email. I haven't heard of anyone actually getting a secondary from them yet. I know my numbers are at or above their averages. Plus, I have a good bit of healthcare experience. I don't know why my decision was deferred.

Same here, received that email on 6/29 and my status is "In process-decision pending". I'm getting a bit nervous since I'm out of state and have no "strong ties to wv." I got rejected from WVU for that reason. Those of you who recently got the decision deferred email, when did you get the primary confirmation?

This early in the game I do believe they are offering secondaries and in turn interview invites, to the shining stars. Then they are "deferring" everyone else, to call upon once they have gone through all those people. THIS IS NOT FACT, just how i see it happening.

No ties to WV for me. NY resident. I can say the admissions office is extremely friendly and responds to emails in a timely manner.

As previous posts have stated, I do not think there is any reason to be concerned yet because I asked Danny in admissions, and he said that they don't normally start having interviews until Labor Day.

3.3 and 29. I am also not from the area and have no ties to it. I was under review since 6/24 and never got the decision deferred email.

It was through email. They give you a date and say that if you cannot make it on that date they will not reschedule, but I don't know how strict on that they are. The email did say that the secondary and disciplinary form need to be into their office within a week of receiving the interview invite and needs to be sent by mail. So because I live in the Northwest I basically need to get the stuff in the mail tomorrow.

You sound JUST like me 🙂 My status did the same thing, and I check it about 5 times a day. Hopefully we'll get an answer this week!

Same here, the same thing happened a couple of weeks ago and I thought that they were perhaps updating statuses but that wasn't the case. It seems like from last year's thread and this year's that most interview invites come on Friday, so there is still a chance that we might here some good news today.

Same here. The last time I was able to log in, my status was changed from pending to deferred. I never received an email mentioning the deferred status either. Don't know what's going on, hopefully that wasn't a rejection.

I don't want to get your hopes up, but mine still says "decision pending" as well... but I had called earlier today because my login wasn't working. She told me over the phone I had been offered an interview, and should be getting the email soon. So I am hoping the same happens for you! :]

No sir, in my portal I have: Decision Deferred. And then on the links to the right, the only thing I have of those that you listed is the Interview Day Agenda.

Considering you were submitted about a month before me, maybe they just got backlogged by volume of applications and mine will get a better look shortly, or maybe that's just wishful thinking

No you just submit the primary and they will send you an email with login information about a week later. I got an interview invite and I didn't send in my letters, and you only have to do the secondary if you get an interview.

i got my first email from wvsom around june 25th, and heard that i rcvd an interview essentially yesterday, so i d say about a month and a half. good luck!

Hey I noticed Monday on their portal that my status is "you have been granted an interview", but I haven't received an email with an invite... I'm hoping it's not an error and wondering if they send emails on a certain day or if I should contact them or if anyone else has been in this situation?

I have also been deferred... I read on the portal that they reserve the right to wait for things like a new MCAT or fall semester grades ?!?! YIKES I hope that isn't the case or I will be in with the entire applicant pool by that point.

Has anyone had experience being deferred and now they are not? If so, how long did it take?

I'm still in the "Decision Deferred" camp. I emailed them today inquiring about it, though. We will see how that turns out. 😀
