I'm sort of thinking about taking a year off in between med school and my first year of residency to either have a kid or do research, b/c my husband will be graduating a year after me. My question is, can I go ahead and match my fourth year, or do I have to wait a year? If I do wait one year, will that hurt my prospects of securing a good residency? Any feedback would be great!

I'm guessing your gonna get your best info from the general residency forum.
